Dear Members,
Thank you for 4 good years and your support in bringing Dubai Ski Club forward to where we are today. As my real work has become more demanding and my children older I feel I cannot give Dubai Ski Club my 100% devotion any more. It’s therefore my decision to hand over the “controls” and stay on as a normal member.
I have worked with Andreas and have known Martin for many years and am confident that they together will do their best to bring Dubai Ski Club to a new level.

Dear Friends & Members of the Dubai Ski Club,
As stated above by Lars Ipland, he has made the decision to step back as the chairman of Dubai Ski Club as he wants to devote more of his time to his wife Jenny and his 2 boys when he is not flying Emirates planes. As the founder and the creator of Dubai Ski Club it is due to his commitment, his engagement and effort that we have the “hottest” Ski Club in the world. Lars and Jennie, we thank you very much for all the skiing at Ski Dubai, the DSC Mini World Cup races, the ski holidays, the parties………….
Dubai Ski Club will be managed from now on by the new Dubai Ski Club Executive Board Members Andreas Teufl (Chairman) and Martin Dolezal. Most of you will know Andreas as the Race Manager for our Mini World Cups. Martin is the President of Snowsports Academy, which is also the organizer of our Austrian Ski Club Holidays. During the last 4 years he provided the training and certification of the Ski Dubai Instructors through
We have great ambitions for the next few years and we hope that we can satisfy the high expectations of our members. All our members are most welcome to actively participate in the constant improvement process and bring to us suggestions and opinions to enable us remain the hottest and hippest Ski Club around.
Some of the details for our new 2010 program are still under discussion but we will work hard to announce the new program by the beginning of 2010. To date we would like to proclaim only the new memberships for children, young adults and families, which were requested by a lot of our members. We are still discussing some details with Ski Dubai for a special kids and youth race program but have already started taking applications for kids, young adults and families memberships.

“Kids” Membership will be considered for children until their 14th birthday.
“Young adults” are members until their 19th birthday.
“Family” Membership is considered for parents with up to 10 children. If we have a parents out there with more than 10 children, Dubai Ski Club is taking over the DSC Membership Fee for the whole family J.
In order to make the enrolment easier, all you have to do is send us an email with your:
1. Name (in case of Family membership, the names of all the family members)
2. Date of Birth
3. Delivery address
4. Contact email address
5. Mobile number
6. A passport like picture in Jpeg format (any picture will do as long as we can see your face)
Due to the upcoming holiday season we are only able to send out the membership cards by January 2010. Aramex will then deliver your membership card direct to your doorstep for a fee of only 25
Please send in your applications for renewal of the membership as soon as possible.
We, the new DSC Management, hope to be able to serve you all in the same excellent way as Lars and Jennie did for the last 4 years in order for you all to have a lot of fun with skiing and all the activities that we try to organize around it…..

We have decided to change our regular club night this month to a more social night where "old" members can meet new members for a cozy dinner at the Brauhaus.
Theme for the night: An Alpine inspired buffet, raclette, cheese fondue and much more, house drinks are included.

All you can eat and drink is only Dhs159, remember to bring your membership card and get a further 30% discount.

Feb-Mar. Newsletter 2009
Dear Members,
This newsletter is about our monthly club day, the ski holiday for next year and an offer for free scuba diving. I hope to see you at some of our events below.
Club day,
Next club day is on the 28th of February at 7 – 9pm in Ski Dubai, followed by “After Skiing” for a drink or two in the Evory Lounge, Hotel Kempinski.
If you are new in the club you can meet Andreas next to the ticket counter at 18:45, he has a red ski jacket saying Dubai Ski Club on the back.
Ski holiday 2010,
I am delighted to inform you that Dubai Ski Club and Snowsports are expanding the holiday program for year 2010 to 2 holidays. We are limited to only 20 adults on each trip, so it will be first come first served.
The first holiday from the 9th-16th of Jan. will be like this year - full speed and great après ski, as a new feature there will be video recording for training purpose and off piste skiing if the snow permits. If you just want to chill out you are also welcome to join as we have a “Cupertino Team” with another Ski Club where you also will have a guide at your disposal.
The second holiday from the 16th-23rd of Jan. is a family week where you can bring your children for a very good rate. There is ski nursery for children 1-3 years of age and a ski school for 3 years and up next to the hotel. There will also be guided tours for the ‘speed demons’ with video recording available if you want to improve your skiing. There will of course also be a Cupertino Team this week.

As some of you know Al Boom Diving has been one of our partners from the beginning. Al Boom has kindly offered free try and refreshers dives to Dubai Ski Club members on Monday 9th of March from 6:30 – 8:30pm. Michael met each other at one of our events back in 2006, got married and gave
birth to a beautiful girl last month, Hannah Ophelia.

closed the club for new members for 2009 but will still be able to make some

October Newsletter
Our annually ”Mini World Cup” is going to take place on the 13th of November at 7pm in Ski Dubai.
This year we are making it as our first Mini World Cup, with two runs following the FIS rules which will be sent to the Team Captains in due time.
We have limited the race to 15 teams in order to make 2 runs. The team captains from last year have been contacted and we are very happy to say that we already have 9 teams confirmed.
If your Country is on the list below you are still welcome to send us an email and we will forward it to the team captain who will inform you if the team is complete or not. If your Country is not on the list and you want to be a Team Captain and register a team please send us an email ASAP.
All the practical details are not in place yet, but the date is fixed for the 13th of November. The entrance fee for joining the race will be around the same as a normal slope pass.
There will also be race practice on all Saturdays from 6pm and on our club day the 25th there will be timing available.
Our après ski after the Mini World Cup is not yet confirmed but I suggest we meet on Thursday the 16th at 8pm for Oktoberfest in Brauhaus where the race team and team members can meet each other. If you are not on a team yet or you don’t want to race you are still welcome to join us for a fun night at the Brauhaus.
